Stainless steel frets: please note that I do not currently offer stainless steel refrets.

Workshop policies & limitations

Maple fretboards & re-lacquering: 

Due to workshop space and ventilation restraints, I do not offer re-lacquering or re-finishing services. For maple boards, every effort is made to meticulously preserve your guitar’s existing finish by hand. While the aim is always to prevent finish chipping and blow-out, tearing and minor finish breakage is sometimes completely unavoidable when pulling old frets. Please note that a brand new sprayed finish is not included.

Bound necks & plastic fret nibs:

When refretting a bound neck, I do not preserve or re-create the plastic fret nibs (the little plastic bumpers at the end of each fret). The old nibs will be leveled flush with the binding, and the new frets will run all the way to the edge of the board.

For any service not specifically listed, my labour rate is £55 per hour.

Minimum service charge & diagnosis fee: £30 (this covers minor tasks up to 40 minutes, such as diagnosis. If the required work exceeds 40 minutes, the fee is waived, and the £55 hourly rate is applied.)
